On equivalent heating value basis, Indian Grade 1 coal at Rs 9450/tonne (Feb 2022
price) is equal to US$5.76 per MMBTU, whereas the imported LNG is currently about
US$25.00 per MMBTU, ex-tax. On average, in the last decade, the Indian coal cost
has been about one fifth the price of natural gas.
Capturing the carbon dioxide emissions profitably from the coal fired power plants
would probably be the best way forward to reduce the impact of greenhouse gases
on the world’s climate.
In the uploaded blogs we share more information on how this carbon dioxide can be
captured profitably and help India meet its commitment to reduce emissions of green
house gases.
Now and in future we will continue to share our knowledge and also the information
from our associate Global Machinery Consultants Pty. Ltd. (GMC) of Australia.
